1966 Lotus Elan S3 (FHC-preairflow)

Bought as an unrunning project to be brought to life quickly with the drivetrain from 45-7380 while 45-7380 was off road because of frame failure and subsequent replacement and restoration. Driven by me from 1978-1984.

From Lotus archives, shipped to Dutchess Motors, Millerton NY, but 1st owner was in Texas. The story I was told was he was a college professor, who failed a couple of members of the football team in his class. The team retaliated by vandalizing his car and carrying it to his 3rd floor office.

It later was sold through Bob Guest Sportscars in Dallas Texas to Wendell Eisle, Littlerock Ark. He didn't get to enjoy it very long before a piston failed and while it was apart, he moved away. After sitting outdoors for quite a few years, I arranged purchase and trailered it home to Ohio.

This is a pre-airflo coupe w/ window switches in the doors and an S3 "Stanpart" radiator. K-O wheels.

Currently off road, awaiting restoration.
